Prayer

Prayer is Responding to God, by Thought and by Deeds, With or Without Words

Book of Common PrayerEpiscopalians believe that "prayer is responding to God, by thought and by deeds, with or without words." (Book of Common Prayer, 856). We pray to praise and adore God, to give thanks, to confess and make restitution, to offer ourselves for God's work, and to ask for God's help for ourselves and others.

When Episcopalians pray together in worship, we use the 1979 Book of Common Prayer, which includes prayers for services as well as the Daily Office, devotions for individuals and families, and other forms of prayer.

Each Sunday we pray for people who have requested prayers, and the long-term prayer list is published in the bulletin to provide a prayer aid through the week.

We welcome prayer requests. If you would like us to pray for you, please call the church office at 330-535-9174 or email, or talk with the priest on Sunday morning.
